Guild of Berkshire Artists & TurnPark Collaborate on New Outdoor Art Show
By Margie Skaggs
Since the presentation of art in galleries and other venues has been on hold for 6+ months and this may well continue, the Guild of Berkshire Artists put their heads together and came up with a new, outdoor exhibit idea: “Six Feet Apart: Zero Degrees of Separation”. This show opens in TurnPark on Saturday, October 10 at 4:00-6:00pm. (Rain date, Sunday Oct. 11, 4 to 6)
Igor and Katya Gomberg, of TurnPark, were immediately interested. They liked the idea of showing large multi-media works that address the impact of the pandemic on artists and the public. Guild artists were equally thrilled with the opportunity to put their creative minds to work and show their art in this beautiful venue.
“This exhibit is a celebration of art that creates an echo of the boundaries that social distancing has placed upon us” said GBA member, ML Kammel.
The works of art will be placed at least 15 feet apart on the Great Meadow of TurnPark so that visitors will be able to interact and enjoy the pieces at a safe distance. Masks and social distancing will be required.
The participating artists are: Amy Pressman, Margie Skaggs, ML Kammel, Jared Gelormino, Marcelene Isaacson, Karen Dolmanisth, Natalie Tyler, Adam Zamberletti, Tim Sleeper.
“Six Feet Apart: Zero Degrees of Separation” will run through Saturday, October 24. It is open to the public daily from 10:00am - 6:00pm.
